I know I will have to try part time first and build a business, because I have to work, but how would I go about getting started? I love planning parties, always have, birthdays, baby showers just about anything, so please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Check out and research any local competition that may have a party planning business already. Learn from them and what they offer and find out how you can be better than them.
Also, start researching vendors. You may be planning the party but who will do catering for you? Find a good caterer. Who will do DJ? Find good DJs. Who will sing? Find good “wedding/party singers”. Where will you buy the decorations? Who will you rent equipment (fountains, chairs, tables, etc.) from? Learn if your state and county has specific alcohol requirements that you may responsible for.
Sounds like a fun business that I would love to do, too.
